"Well made cover, a bit short for the 6 qt pro series mixer" 2009-07-15

I have the red cover for my 6 qt pro mixer. I keep all of my attachments including the pour shield INSIDE the mixer. The cover fits over the mixer with a bit of room to spare in girth, but leaves about 1/2" inch of the base exposed.
If I could find a cover that would completely cover my mixer, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I haven't found that cover. It's a good thing I like the Cinnamon color of my mixer!
The cover is very well made of heavy fabric and good, even stitching. I like the outside pocket on this cover. I keep my favorite spatula, a thermometer and some reference cards in there.
The cover washes well BY HAND, in COLD water, with Woolite. No fading or shrinking. I just kind of block and shape it over the mixer as it dries. I know others who machine wash theirs, but given the tight fit on the 6 qt models I didn't want to take a chance on any more shrinkage.
If anyone else finds a better cover for the 6 qt, I sure hope they share the info!

I bought this cover for my Artisan stand mixer. It's made from a quilted cotton fabric which fits perfectly over the mixer and has a deep side pocket to hold the booklet or flat beater attachment. Wish it had a larger color selection.

Just ordered the khaki cover. It's an "official" KitchenAid product, which I like. And it's surprisingly soft. Well worth the 20 or so dollars to keep my mixer clean between uses.
