My wife loves this product and I would buy her another if she needed it...

Getting into baking Artisan bread requires a unit like this. It's strong enough to take care of that heavy mixing required. Normally, I use the mixer to bring everything together and knead it for a few, then I like to use my hands for the final kneading. I have no complaints about this except the shield. It's basically worthless since it doesn't sit well on the bowl and flips off if you try to move it. No big deal, since it's not really necessary to use it. The mixer is heavy so it needs to sit on the counter unless you have plenty of storage space and don't mind getting it out when you need to. It's a bit of a challenge to convert mixing times from other recipes (incl. box mixes). So far, we've done okay and haven't over-mixed. This is kind of a luxury item [...], you can save a lot over a brick and mortar store.

I am not sure how I have survived so long long without this product. I previously had a sunbeam mixer which was also good, but not as user friendly. The KitchenAid is definitely durable and easy to clean. I would recommend this to anyone who bakes often.

I just have to say that I have been waiting for YEARS for a Kitchen Aid and I finally talked myself into it for my birthday. I LOVE IT! the first weekend that I had it, I made 3 loaves of white bread, 3 loaves of wheat and flax bread, and 2 loaves of banana nut. My husband thinks I am the coolest! In all seriousness, this is a beautiful machine, has such consistancy and is a work horse. I can't wait to make my first batch of cookies. I really love it and would recomend it to anyone!

I purchased this mixer with the intention of using it for smaller jobs, and it fits the bill perfectly. Where I would normally use my 6 quart KitchenAid, this mixer is the perfect size for smaller jobs. I even bought the smaller 3-quart bowl for really small jobs, and that is a great value.
There is plenty of power in the Artisan Series, even for small batches of bread and dinner rolls. If you cook in quantity, but also need a mixer for the smaller jobs, this one is the one for you.
It seems that the folks at Whirlpool (which purchased the KitchenAid appliance line) have listened to customers' complaints regarding quality issues with some KitchenAid models in recent years. This machine definitely lives up to the KitchenAid name; it is relatively quiet, very powerful, and I would certainly buy this again, if need be, and I definitely do recommend it without hesitation.
