KitchenAid live chat just told me to order "KTA KBC90N, 2 Pack Mixer Bowl Covers for 4.5-Quart Models" for my 2-year old Artisan mixer with a 5-quart bowl.

Even though this is the right lid for my Kitchenaid model, they don't fit as tight as the original. Also the indent in the middle is probably twice as deep as the original. Mind you, my original one was about 16 years old.

All I can say is that these are worth ANY price, for what they give in return. It looks like they have an actual hole in the top, but its just a 2'' or so deep point that is recessed area to allow the kitchenaid top to be down when the cap is on the bowl. It's sooo nice because I can put some of my mixer attachments in the bowl and then put the lid on them, and nothing gets dirty even if I don't use it for a week. They wash very easily, which is ALWAYS a plus, and allow me to store things in the fridge!!!! Totally worth any cost for the convenience!

These are wonderful. I was never able to leave my bowl with my Kitchenaid pivot head mixer, which is on the counter, because of dust. I now not only have the bowl in place, but I store the dough hook, wisk and beater blade inside. I store my extra bowl in a cabinet with the second lid on top of that to keep the dust out. The indentation in the center of the lid accepts the 'stem' from the machine just perfectly.
