After manually scraping down the sides of my Kitchen Aid mixer for several years while making cookie dough, I think this product is heaven sent! It installs just like any other Kitchen Aid mixing tool except that you may have to adjust the height of the tilt top to account for the extra silicone on the bottom of the tool. It's a simple procedure and the directions are on the back of the package for added convenience. Anyhow, the amazing thing is that the product works just as described...it scrapes the sides of the bowl as you mix your dough and it did a beautiful job blending all the ingredients together. If you're in to baking, this is a wonderful accessory to have in the kitchen! Go ahead and try it...you'll love it too!

It has been one year and I like this machine. I use it mainly for kneadling bread dough. I have used 3 bread machine before, grey stuff stained the dough around the shaft paddle. This mixer knead the bread more elastic and the texture is much better. NO grey stuff staining my bread dough anymore.

I didn't need a machine this powerful,I bought it on the basis of it's low price. The mixer arrived faster than I expected (thanks Amazon) with two tiny scratches on pan lift arms caused by the pan not being secured correctly during shipping. I definately can live with miniscule marks and otherwise machine looks and operates like brand new. Mixer cost's $420 new and I paid $150 refurbished. Low price,very strong machine, excellent condition. You ought to see what it can do with garlic mashed potatoes or maple pound cake the neighbors ate up less than a hour later. Refurbished makes good sense. Amazon is getting more and more of my busness.

My classic Kitchenaid mixer is about 25 years new and I never had a problem pouring batter from the original bowl, which had no handle. However, my hands have become weak over the years and recently I almost dropped the entire bowl and batter on the floor - twice. I immediately ordered a bowl with a handle from Amazon and it is wonderful. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that the handle is rather thin. Kitchenaid doesn't even make a 4-1/2 qt bowl with the nice ergonomic handle that they offer for their larger machines. However, this is a relatively minor issue. I kept my original bowl as a spare for making something light, such as egg whites or whipped cream, but for batter the handle is wonderful.

I have a KitchenAid stand mixer (Pro5) that I absolutely love. I bought the slicer/shredder attachment and I've never been more disappointed in a product. It does not slice. The shredder attachment does a combination of things: it makes a ridiculous amount of liquid, it shreds about 50-60% of the material but it's all mixed in with way too many to pick out medium and large chunks. Supposedly it works best on medium to firm cheese, fruit and veggies. I've tried it with carrots, coconut, and zuchini with no success. I wish I had the sense to return it within 30 days now I've paid for something I wouldn't resell because that is just cruel to whomever buys it and it is completely useless. Maybe it could be used for a piece of recycled art????

I bought an attachment set of shredder/slicers for my KitchenAid stand mixer to replace the previous set ! They are that good. I have had my stand mixer for close to 25 yrs,( they were still made in Hobart , Ohio) and is an unfashionable almond color. The latter is of no consequence. This appliance is an extraordinary workhorse. It can do just about anything. The attachments are very easy to use, clean and store. If you have one of these mixers you would do well to get the slicer/shredder attachment and at the price ! man, this is a bargain. Easier to work with than a food processor and can do many of the same things. The shredder whips through Parmesan cheese in a flash and the slicer handles vegetables with ease.

I received the KitchenAid RVSA Slicer/Shredder Attachment for Stand Mixers as a retirement gift and used it for the first time yesterday. Although the idea of it is great, the quality of construction is very poor. The cones themselves have blades that are not sharp enough, and the removable shaft metal finish flaked off into the food!!!! UNACCEPTABLE. As a result, I ended up tossing out tainted zucchini and hand grated it instead. A food processor would do a better job for sure. Also, the shaft is impossible to remove without pliers unless you leave the attachment in the machine before removing the shaft. TERRIBLE PRODUCT.

I am glad that I read the reviews before using the product, so I did not have false expectations. Within its limitations, this is a perfectly adequate product. I just spent 45 minutes (from pulling down the cutting board to putting my tools in the sink) chopping up 3 pounds of onion, 1 1/2 pounds of mushrooms, 6 bell peppers and some link sausage. I shudder to think how long it would have taken me to do this with just a knife (beginnings of arthritis in my hands).



Did it turn out lovely clean slices? Nope.



Did it chop the items relatively fine so that we can add them to the dozen or so quices we'll be making tonight? Yep.



I can't say that the product is overpriced, because I essentially got it for free when I purchased the attachment pack KitchenAid FPPA Mixer Attachment Pack for Stand Mixers. My reccomendation is to buy the attachment pack to get the meat grinder (great home made sausage) and food strainer (great home made applesauce) to have the shredder in case you need it.

This attachment is made very sturdily. I like the heavy, metal cones - they work well for shredding and slicing. The only thing I don't like is the pushing attachment. It is sturdy, too, made out of thick plastic, but the pushing pieces don't quite meet the cone so you end up getting ends of food that swirl around and around without being processed. Still, it's a great timesaver and my husband loves salads now that I can get all the veggies sliced into small pieces. Overall, it is a good product.

In my serach for a mixer that would make homemade marshmallows, I narrowed it down between the Viking and the Kitchen Aid. The Viking mixer was fairly new at the time but the reviews were great. The long standing Kitchen reviews had gone from good to terrible. From what I read, Kitchen Aid replaced some of its metal machine/motor parts with plastic parts and the mixers were breaking inside. For the same price the Viking is built better and is industrial strength. I can make multiple batches of marshmallows back-to-back without any strain on my Viking mixer's motor. It actually makes the marshmallows in half the time as my mom's Kitchen Aid, which is half the time the recipe calls for. I am very pleased with my purchase and would tell all my friends and family to get a Viking if they were looking to purchase a mixer. I am even looking to purchase their brand in other kitchen appliances. As a baker, you cannot go wrong with this one!
